Clancy spins a pretty good yarn.
This book is the next in line in Clancy's universe. It's set immediately after Executive Orders, the terrorist biowar book.
The story has two main pieces. The first is how Clark and Ding are loaned to a multi-national anti-terrorist unit based in England. The other is a well-backed group of eco-fanatics who plan on another biological attack.
The terrorist incidents make the book inherently eposidic. There are a half-dozen in all. The situations are interesting. The Rainbow 6 characters are maybe a little too perfect. If you take a break while reading the book the homogeneity characters make them a bit hard to separate.
The eco-freaks make for an interesting antagonist. Because they're so well-backed they make a formidible enemy. You just wonder if people with that much intelligence can really go that far off the scale.
The suspense scene near the end was maybe a bit too pat. And the final resolution is similar in style to the last few Clancy books.
Overall, the book works, if you like Clancy's style. Paperback.
